This is where I am—Alaçatı, a village about half way down Turkey’s Aegean coast. The closest large city is Izmir, about 45 minutes away by car. Çeşme, about 15 minutes by car, is also a rather large town close by. The Greek island of Chios is about an hour and half ferry ride away. According to Wikipedia, the name Alaçatı means “a man with a read horse” (apparently, the first ruler rode a red horse?)
I don’t know. I think Alaçatı means paradise.
